SES Water undertakes biggest ever summer community engagement programme

SES Water, a drinking water only company, is undertaking its biggest ever community engagement programme this summer, reaching around 80,000 people across five local events, with the core purpose of listening to its customers.

Over the August bank holiday weekend, the Company attended the Edenbridge and Oxted Show, as well as EcoFair in Carshalton. In the coming weeks it will also be supporting Feasty Fest in Sutton on 7 and 8 September, Bore Place Open Day in Edenbridge on 15 September and Run Reigate in Priory Park on 22 September.

While the water industry continues to receive justified scrutiny, SES Water is committed to supplying water at a number of these events enabling the opportunity to hear from its customers, taking on board their concerns and being there for them in times of need.

Not only is SES Water passionate about supporting the communities it serves, it also plays a crucial role in addressing environmental challenges. The Company, which is one of the highest ranked in the UK for water quality, is committed to enhancing nature, and, together with the wider water industry, is dedicated to preventing the equivalent of four billion plastic bottles from becoming waste by 2030.

SES Water Wholesale Director, Tom Kelly, said:

“We’re here to listen to our customers. This summer’s community engagement programme is all about understanding their needs, concerns, and feedback. By being present at these local events, we aim to show that we're not just a local water company —we’re a community partner who is genuinely invested in the wellbeing of the communities we serve."

Run Reigate Event Director, David Kelly, said:

“We are thrilled to have SES Water supporting Run Reigate again this year. Their active involvement not only highlights their dedication to the community but also underscores the importance of collaboration in creating sustainable, healthy, and vibrant communities. We look forward to seeing the continued positive impact they make at Run Reigate"

In October 2023, the Company submitted its Business Plan for 2025 to 2030 to Ofwat, setting the most ambitious programme of activity to date to deliver improved outcomes for customers, the environment and wider society. As a business already delivering industry leading outcomes in key areas including leakage, supply interruptions and water quality, In its Draft Determination response, the Company maintains that the plan reflects the priorities of our customers and is set in the context of a 25-year strategy, with the investment needed over the next five years critical to the delivery of our longer-term ambitions.
